Boycott Avira antivirus

Post by Pedro-NF »

Even though ALL programs of this type are mostly useless pieces of shit, almost never being able to catch the real, harmful viruses, while at the same time confounding their users with a deluge of false positives, I usually keep an antivirus program installed (with its real-time protection feature disabled, of course), mainly to manually check for old viruses - which are the only thing they are good at detecting - and also to amuse myself with the pathetic amount of false positives they return.

For the past two years, the "less worse" antivirus I've been using has been Avira - which is getting uninstalled right now, because of the stupid decision made by the program's authors to force the users to update the program's database, with no way to disable that feature or to stop the nagging window that will pop up all the time when the program decides it's time to update - not even disabling its update service under services.msc will get rid of it. I update my programs as often and whenever I want to, not when the programs "decide" I should do so. Actually, I usually update my most used programs quite often, but again, when I want to do it. For that reason, I urge all of you who naivelly trust antivirus programs to

BOYCOTT AVIRA'S ANTIVIRUS,

like I'm going to do from now on.

FUCK YOU, AVIRA DEVELOPERS.
