cfg problem?

So I set max fps "125". But i find that if i play long enough, it will always get set to "67". I can't render 125 on 100% of the maps though. But sometimes it will happen on maps like the pac-man map where I can render the 125 100%. Noob question, pedro might hate me for asking, but fuck it. hahaha

Now do you mean that on those maps you can only reach 67 FPS, or that when you type /com_maxfps on the console it shows that Cvar's value as 67? ET's default value for com_maxfps is 85, BTW.

Did you ever tried to take off the explosions and rain/snow effects?!

There are bits and pieces of several maps that drop down below 125 fps. My problem is that I have to keep executing my autoexec.cfg or type /com_maxfps to set it back to 125 over and over. It is like it sets itself down to 67 max fps after playing 15 to 20 minutes.

BTW, I'm runnin... 2.4ghz 2 duo, 3 gb ram, and your favorite video card of course hahah ati radeon 5670 1 gb. trust me i want a geforce after reading your comparison post, Pedro. My girlfriend got it for me for $30 and it is way better than what I was running. haha

You didn't answer my question, does the VALUE of the com_maxfps Cvar change? Type /com_maxfps followed by no value on the console to know.

Not at all, as Pedro already wrote, put this at your CFG file:

seta cg_atmosphereffects "0"
seta cg_atmosphericeffects "0"

but you can put this as well and your fps will do better (but don't forget to make a backup of your old cfg file, so, if you don't like the changes, just exec the old one):

Okay, so I solved my problem last night. I feel pretty stupid about this one. When i got my new computer this year (i've been learning how to play on $100 laptop), I decided to run 125 fps, because i could and it's fucking awesome. I have the 180 degree turn script in my config as well, which I use maybe 2-5 times in a match use. So i forgot the update the frame rate in that script...haha

stupid me...oh well. Thanks for the help guys. I'd know much less without the support.

Oh, i got a new mouse today. g400 logitech I can finnally adjust my mouse dpi. My old mouse hung up all the time when I moved my arm too fast. Took some time to adjust my sensitivity levels again though, they are much lower now.
