Can I set hunkmegs at 2730?! Because I have 4 of ram...

No, that would be total overkill. Set it to a maximum of 512 MB. More than that and Windows will start writing some of your allocated memory to the page file, even if you still have physical memory available, which will cause problems like maps taking longer to load and stuttering when certain sounds play.

So do I (on XP 64 Pro), but Windows writes program data to the swap file even if there is plenty of real physical RAM still available. Even if you do not use a swap file, Windows creates one silently and writes data to it.
